I reached the sought-after milestone of 100 followers at the end of 2021.
Within the first week of January this year, I became a Medium Partner.
Everybody says it, but it isn’t about the money for me. It’s about the habit of confidently showing up when I say I will on the platform.
So, to add a level of reflection, celebration, and appreciation I want to start writing monthly review posts of the previous month's progress.
Alright, let’s get to it.
I published 13 articles in January.
My highest viewed article though was, Why Email Marketing is Dead in 2022. That was before I became a Medium Partner though.
At the moment of writing this, it has 260 views with a 46% read ratio. Unsure if that is good or bad, but I’ll take it. Views could be 0.
Maybe someone can shed some light here, but as you can see from the image above my views tanked hard towards the end of January.
I wrote more articles towards the end of the month but did not equate to more views. I really can’t place my finger on why. The majority of the later articles got more claps than previous ones, so I thought the engagement would help. But it did not.
Others have said that the views for them went down, maybe this is a widespread issue?
Not going to bore you with every single article that earned some coinage in January, but I will show the top 3.

The 3rd one actually was my favorite to write. I introduced a new word to explain the state of social media and what everyone needs to do to avoid the pitfalls.
